LEGENDS™ 4 Life website supports Grassroots Organizations. We know that with funding, education, and training, our partners can expand the reach and effectiveness of their programs and thus transform more lives in our cities. These organizations promote educational excellence seeking to assist students as they map their road to higher education. Grassroots Organizations and LEGENDS™ are founded by like minded people who are passionate about empowering communities. They speak directly to a subsection of the community with whom are in their circle of influence. Grass Roots organizations have leadership and organizational “gaps” that may hinder their growth and support from the larger community. These organizations have big ideas about change but little resources to become the transformative agents that they seek to be in their community. LEGENDS™ is seeking to provide some of these resources to help organizations further their mission to Educate, Cultivate, and Transform lives.
LEGENDS™ Grassroots Fund
Unlike many of our competitors LEGENDS™ has established a charitable donation program within our company called the LEGENDS™ Grassroots Fund. This program allows each customer to select from a list of Grassroots Organizations to receive a portion of their purchase donated to support the growth of these organizations. LEGENDS™ offers unique designs featuring a postage stamp theme. Each design features a true black historical icon which allows the wearer to proudly make a statement about the significance of each black icon. These designs are displayed on T-shirts, both short and long sleeve as well as ladies night shirts and hoodies.

LEGENDS™ 4 Life Founder and CEO, Mr. Kim Perkins, is very passionate about helping people fulfill their dreams, goals and their rights in life. We are all created equal but unfortunately born into an unfair world where there’s classification and opportunity based on access to wealth.
African Americans have always been a collective. You’re probably familiar with the African Proverb “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” Everyone contributes to everyone else’s success and no one can take credit for his or her own success. We all collectively contribute directly or indirectly in our community and we all want to see others in our community succeed. Our ancestors knew that Our-Story was often unwritten often untold. Can you imagine a future with no limits? Can you imagine a past that made it all possible?

Education and going to college are a spiritual thing for the Black Community. For so long our community was not allowed to be educated. We know our ancestors fought for us to sit in these classrooms with the same opportunities as everyone else. There should never be a price for education or opportunity in society.

What are the eligibility requirements for an organization to be supported by LEGENDS
To be considered for funding, organizations must:
- Have nonprofit, tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or 509(a) of the IRS Code and be in good standing.
- Be located in or provide service to communities within Foundation Service Area.
What we look for in an applicant organization:
- Fiscal stability
- Address community needs related to our funding priorities
- Established leadership/governance
- Diverse board and staff; reflective of the community being served
When reviewing proposals, preference is given to funding opportunities/initiatives that:
- Make efforts to collaborate with other groups providing similar programs or services
- Include financial commitments from a variety of sources
- Utilize an effective evaluation plan specific to the proposed funding opportunity/initiative.
- Demonstrate measurable goals and outcomes
